At last year’s DLD (Europe’s leading digital conference) I was lucky to meet Jure Leskovec, a 31 year old professor of computer science at Stanford University.

Jure and his team analyze very large sets of data: they have access to all blog posts and social media in the US, and they use this information as a “telescope” to look into human behavior.

As he puts it, “the web is the greatest sensor we have ever built… everything we do leaves a digital trace… we are helping to attach meaning to bits and bytes… we build computational models of human behavior”
