Tokyo-Ga by Wim Wenders

Tokyo-Ga is a 1985 documentary/film by Wim Wenders.

The movie is many things;
a traveler’s diary, an hommage to filmmaker Ozu, an observation of a very foreign place. We see interviews with actor’s from Ozu’s films, rockabillys in Yoyogi park, Pachinko halls, plastic food fabrication, TV’s in hotels.

I always feel like I’m unable to really articulate what makes Tokyo and Japan so special.
This film does articulate that strange and wonderful atmosphere.

Also features an amazing soundtrack by Dick Tracy.
